DANGEROUS GIGS, NEW SHOWCASE and CD RELEASE.
July 14th,
2006
I've played several
excellent gigs over the past few months including the NAZA space
circus, my favorite elctro rave in Tijuana in front of a few thousand
people. My confetti cannon accidently fired into the
crowd...instead of above them like it should...temporarily blinding
abotu 15 people...and the huge pilates ball I bounce on got away and
wreaked havok amonst listeners when it started bouncing high above the
crowd and knocking people over who didn't see it coming....but no one
was seriously hurt and the concert was ultimately a huge success.
Afterward a few gorgeous girls and a guy asked me to autograph
their boobies. What fun! Thanks once again to CABALLO for
getting me the gig.
I took a part time job as the weekly host of a
Music Showcase at the BRASS RAIL. The venue is a huge 350
capoacity dance club wit ha kick-ass stage. The night is called
'PLUGGED.' I perform there every week amongst
the 15 or so highly talented acts I book on our weekly lineup.
The night has gotten alot of press and is taking off quickly but
surely. I've debutted some fantastic new costumes
there...including my dominatriz boobie apron.....and added some
exciting touches to my new light show....its a great night...stop by
any Thursday.
My latest CD, DEBAUCHERY DESMADRE, is absolutely
rockin... I finally got it back from the factory and I will be
releasing it via several exciting events here at the border and on my
upcoming tour...stay tuned for details!

Lots of action in the last
few
weeks. I was recently on channel 8 prime time news promoting the
upcoming SAVE THE MONKEY concert which is on May 12th.
Myself and four other bands have joined together to save the Hot Monkey
Love cafe, which is in danger of going out of business if they don't
buy out the building they are located in. The concert will be the
BEST of the year, and one of my last concerts in San Diego before my
international tour. Click HERE
for more info.
I finished two new AMAZING music videos, RAISE HELL
RAISE BABIES and IF I WERE A GIRL. Please stop by my VIDEO page to see
them.
My INTERNATIONAL LOVE TOUR is now official and
in its serious organizational stages. 50 cities. 15 countries. 3
continents. Its gonna ROCK!!!! Stay tuned for more details.
I produced the entertainment section at the
third Imperial Beach ART JAM in mid april. Over 12 musicians
participated in the event and I have been asked to produce future
events in IB as well. Woohoo!
The CESAR CHAVEZ festival in April was a HUGE
success. Thanks to John Acosta!!!!!
I am now officially known as the
MEXIGRINGO (Mexican on the inside, Gringo on the outside) and my
inflatable monkey has been spotted at several huge public events....he
marched in the May 1st Immigrant Demonstration in San Diego.

Guess who was the BIGGEST
STAR at
the internationally renowned San Diego Latino Film Festival this year,
rubbing elbows with the likes of Antonio Banderas, Adal Ramones,
Santana, and Jennifer Lopez, just to name a few?
ME.....and some of my favorite friends!
I performed a two hour concert at the SD
Latino film fest and with the help of the Academy of Performing arts
assembled the finest team of back-up dancers any performer could ever
wish to have (Jesse Romero, Jackie Mougel and Desiree
Habura...gorgeous!!!).....I also invited several incredible performers
to take the spotlight...including AJ (seattles hottest pop divo), Ana
Rivera (the most Angelic voice to ever grace the stages of Tijuana) and
her virtuoso pianist brother, Jose Miguel Rivera, Brenda Starr,
(Arguably the finest dancer south of the Border) Rodrigo Zapian (Actor,
Troubador, Songwriter, Talent) and Alfonso de la Espriella, (A
columbian native even more addictive than it's infamous #1
export). Luis, lead singer of the band Sonar Map volunteered to
be our sound engineer, and Alma Paloma was our super fabulous MC.
Although we were given a seriously substandard
sound system, we did our best to overcome all obstacles and
shine....and shine we did. Fabulous performances from all
participants made up for any sound equipment glitches, and the crowd
was friendly and appreciative.
After the concert we loaded up my van and
headed over the the Bacchus House for the after party, and my back up
dancers were turned away at the door! Me and AJ were thus
left by our lonesomes to fill a fifteen minute set ant this hip-hoppin
latino gay venue..... I dressed as a catholic school girl
and sang "If I were a Girl" and "Ingles para Depbrabados" and AJ sang
"Don't Cry my Gay Child." Although we really missed our back-up
dancers, our performaces were super-stellar and we definitely
took the night. Thank you to Patrick 'Pipa' Stillman,
Franceska, and to all participants in the show....what a great time!
In february....I went on a fantastic
mini-tour in Mexico City, and Puebla. I played two concerts..one
with Los Pegajosos and another with Los Guanabana, and was interviewed
on ALTAVOZ, a program on Expresa Radio.
The trip was a fantastic advenure...I
drank fresh fruit licuados every day, saw many of Mexico's finest
bands perform (including Silverio, Fenomeno Fuzz, Micky, Amandita,
Maria Daniela y su Sonido Lasser, and I met Chu of Lady Bombon and all
the members of Dogma). I spent a good deal of time with
Fernando Mondragon, the one and only "surfer zombie," and his friend
Carlos, and got a chance to make new friends and see old friends.
In January I was interviewed on Radio Organyka. It
was dirty but really fun. Click HERE to listen!
(I'm the very first program in the archives at the bottom.....program
#1) I played two events to celebrate the 8th anniversary of EL
PUENTE binational events calendar.....one was in a fabulous ancient
wine cellar in Tijuana called "la Cava" de "L.A. Cetto." The
other was in Caffe Salotto in Chula Vista. My friend Luis from
Sonar map played some songs too...it rocked...and now they want us
back. These two shows were the first time I donned the fantastic
'Gorda Bailarina' (Fat Ballerina) outfit. Thanks to Roy of EL
PUENTE for inviting me! And thanks to Gabriel Jimenez for his
help setting up. Check out the photos here!
And see my photo
galleries for pics of all the above shows!!!

I'm in the CITYBEAT
this
week! Check out the article HERE.
SUMO SANTA, the official inflatable
representative of my new Christmas CD, 'VOTE SANTA! NAUGHTY OR
NICE!' has been making waves all over the Southwest. (for
those of you who don't know...SUMO SANTA is ME in a crazy
disguise...but DON'T TELL ANYONE it's a secret!) He won over the
VEGAS STRIP on Thanksgiving weekend, (except for the snooty WYNN
Casino...who kicked him out. SANTA HATERS!) and has been charming
people on the streets and stages of San Diego, Tijuana, Los Angeles and
San Bernardino.
He crashed the TNT party at the Museum of
Contemporary art last week, grabbed the microphone and did an
unforgettable rendition of the hip hop classic 'Push It.' He won
over throngs of converts at December Nights in Balboa Park last
weekend, and made his grand entrance into some of San Diego's most
popular mightclubs afterwards creating a huge stir in every corner of
the city.
The CD has been a smashing success and I
highly recommend you order a copy
before it sells out! His message, SANTA FOR PRESIDENT! seems to
ring a happy chord of hope in the ears of all who hear it....
The VOTE SANTA CD Promotion efforts will
culminate in my concert
on 12/22/05 at the TIKI Bar in PB....I'm gonna make it SNOW inside
the bar, the INFLATABLE BALLS and the GODZILLA SISTERS are gonna do a
surprise appearance and crowd surfing act, it's gonna be REALLY WILD
and there is FREE BEER to those with coupons so DON'T MISS IT!
My PHOTO GALLERIES
have been updated at last so you can see a whole slew of new pictures
of me and fellow performers...in some of the artistic ones I might be
naked ! But you'll have to look for yourself.

The last five months
have
been a crazy whirlwind of activity. My show AMOR EN LA
FRONTERA was a HUGE success...please visit the official website to see the
pictures and video clips, including original films from our talented
cast and our fabulous stint on Mexican television.
Due to complications over the rights to the
trademark, I changed the name of my Spanish solo act from GRINGO LOCO
to MONO MONO, which means "Monkey Monkey." The MONO MONO act is focussed on high
energy electronic dance music and a very outragous live show with
spectacular special effects and insane props....such as inflatable
animals, pinatas, exploding foam, etc, my favorite of which is a human
sized inflatable monkey.
My monkey and I went on a brief tour in
Chihuahua, Mexico and Ciudad Juarez, Mexico. I performed in
front of hundreds of people and witnessed insane acts of
enthusiasm....including crowd surfing and moshing. I threw
marshmallows and confetti at fans and they liked it. My monkey
was kidnapped in Chihuahua! And in Ciudad Juarez, I was in a
flood! Click HERE
for the pictures.
I completed a new CHRISTMAS ALBUM entitled
'VOTE SANTA! NAUGHTY OR NICE!" It is political, dancable,
singable and simply the greatest Christmas album you will ever
hear. I'm giving free copies to all fans who have purchased
discs from me previously, or who purchase them before 12/1/05.
I finally got onto MYSPACE, and have made many
new friends and valuable connections.
I have been performing almost
nightly...sometimes twice a night...at San Diego local open
mics. This upcoming weekend should be super
interesting....I have an acoustic show at Claire de lune at the
Nashville Songwriters association showcase, and a really exciting gig
at the FIESTA NACO in Tijuana, opening for KINKY, a very well known
band.
June 30, 2005
Yes....you can now buy my latest CD in stores
throughout San Diego. I'm at the Hot Monkey Love cafe in the
College Area, M-Theory Records in South Park, and Music trader in
Pacific Beach. See my Merchandise
page for more info.
I will strut down the catwalk for the first
time on July 8th at the Bazooka Fashion Show in Tijuana with the ever
glamourous and effervescent "Facafaca." Contact me for
specifics.
The website for my new show "Amor en la
Frontera" is now online. Click HERE to enter the site and
see the hundreds of photos we took on Avenida Revolucion last weekend
of lovers, love and a few unloved ones.

No
news for 5 months
and then suddenly a
deluge....what can I say...when it rains...well...you know!
I’ve recently gotten some radio airplay in
both San Diego (96.9 Pirate Radio)
and Tijuana (UCBC) and had my first “podcast” interview…..with the
unbelieveably cool DJ Bazooka
Joe! “Podcasting” is sort of like the radio but on the
internet. Click HERE
if you would like to hear the interview. Click HERE if you'd like to
listen to Bazooka Joes amazing 'Small World Podcast."
My CD “Raise Hell, Raise Babies” was
professionally mastered by Lawrence Czoka of Studio West, in North County San
Diego in April, and it sounds GREAT! I immediately sent it to the
manufacturing plant along with some totally awesome images I put
together in photoshop. The final product looks and sounds
totally top of the line and is now officially for sale. You
can buy it from the largest and most respected vendor of indie music on
the internet… CDBABY….for
13.97 (plus shipping)….or for those of you who act fast I have reserved
50 copies of the cd for sale from my site at the super low promotional
price of $9.99. Click HERE for
info or write me to see if there are any left.
I have officially learned how to play the
guitar and have been rocking the open mic scene with some totally bad
ass new guitar songs. I have chosen to feature one of them this
month on the “featured” song link on my home page. I have
no doubt that it’s gonna be a #1 hit and all time chart topper, being
that the initial response from people in the audience has been INSANELY
positive…. Click HERE
to hear it…..
South of the Border in ol Tijuana I have been
a very busy bee. I have assembled a team of over 20
singers, dancers, choreographers and filmmakers and we are creating a
multi-media extravaganza entitled ‘Amor en la Frontera” or “Love at the
Border.” Obviously things in Mexico happen a little differently
than they do In the USA…so the project is much more organic than
precisely planned….at present we have support from the ICBC (a Mexican
Government Funded Arts Organization) and numerous respected groups and
individuals from Tijuana. The overall project is enormous and at
present we are scheduled to perform the 29th of July, so leave that day
open!
A new friend of mine, Valeria Leyva (better
known as “la faca” from the internet duo “facafaca” (click HERE to see their UNBELIEVEABLE
website) invited me to perform with her at a local bar and an insane
rave in Tijuana. I estimate that we performed in front of
70 people at the bar and then more like 300 people at the rave (but
maybe it was more like 1000….I don’t know the place was packed.)
We created a huge mess by throwing flower petals, rice, popcorn, paper
streamers and beer on top of everyone….someone tried to tie me up with
Saran Wrap….people were screaming and jumping and dancing…..it was
truly outrageous….I got half-way naked and revealed my jungle boxers to
the world….I made some new fans….and I may have gotten my first product
promotion gig out of it…so a special thank you to “La Faca” for letting
me be a part of all the fun!
My song “Tiki Tiki Tembo” was discovered by a
DJ in Houston and placed on a website that features all songs that
somehow deal with gay marriage. Click HERE to
check out that site. The song has been spreading like
wildfire….I recently discovered it on a Korean website…let me know if
it pops up anywhere else….
“THE OTHER BROTHER” has gone back into
hibernation…..mostly because Danny and I have been swamped with things
to do…..but it isn’t forgotten and I’ll let everyone know when we are
back…..hopefully sooner than later....I recently visted Danny and his
rather obese dog "Haley" in Florida....and confirmed that he truly is a
red neck hick.....we had lots of arguments and he demonstrated the true
depth of all of his horrible red-neck misconceptions...all the same we
had a great time and I hope to visit him again soon....!
JANUARY 16, 2005
THE OTHER BROTHER,
my wacked out political radio show with my brother, is back with a bang
after our three month hiatus. Mother nature subsided just
long enough for us to record a few new shows.....and we are spicier
than ever so don't say I didn't warn you!
My newest song, "My pendulum
swings both ways" is officially up on the site.....its a little
crazy and a little sexy....I hope you all like it! My
favorite part are the sexy pics on the promo page.
My new Spanish
language site is officially up and running.....I've posted my first
song in spanish...'Rascacielos"
on that site....so check it out if you are ready to be blown away in a
new language....
Performing nightly throughout the border
region has landed me numerous new friends and fans.....hello to
all! Monica lawty and Matthew foster, two amazing local
pianists, have agreed to join me on stage next
Saturday at Cafe Mojoe in La Jolla.....I'm really, really looking
forward to it.
As soon as February rolls around, we'll have
some large events and video projects on the front burner, so stay tuned!
DECEMBER 16,
2004
HO HO HO! Happy holidays to
all! It has taken me this many weeks to recover from the
horrifying November 2nd election, and to that end I have written a
humorous song which expresses exactly how I feel about the
outcome. I think of it as a Christmas gift to all of my
fans. It's called "Santa Clause, could you take away President
Bush" and you can listen to it HERE.
I spent a large part of the past few months
putting together a new piano/voice solo set, which I have been
performing rigorously at all of the local open mics, as well as in
numerous local parks. Response has been overwhelmingly positive,
and my piano skills are exponentially better than they were just a few
short months ago. The 20 or so songs I've composed for the set
are soothing and really quite lovely, and I hope to be able to post
some samples for you soon.
'The Other Brother' radio show has been on extended
pause, but it has not disappeared! We will be back in 2005 and
better than ever, so stay tuned.
I have been revisiting some previous karaoke
haunts, and have managed to add some great new artists to my
repertoire, including Paquita la del Barrio, Ricky Martin and
Pedro Fernandez. The Karaoke scene in Tijuana is more lively than
ever and if you want to experience another world let me know and I'll
be happy to take you along sometime.
More music videos are in the works as well as
a fabulous new multi- media live show that will be a marriage between a
vegas show and the Matrix.....check back early next year for details!
SEPTEMBER

2004
As you can see the site as been totally
updated. This month I welcome Anthony Stasa and Chris
Sannino to the Art Cafe, make sure to check out their stuff it's
amazing! There are also some fabulous contributions from
three terrific writers in the MINDFOOD section, so be sure to check it
out.
Thank you to all my wonderful fans
who helped me get to the top of the IUMA charts. I had 3433
hits on july 21st which launched me to the top, with over 20,000 hits
in the month of july. Thanks to all of you, I was in the
top 40 for the entire month of August, which was totally cool!
I filmed and edited my first music video,
"Narcissus" which was a MAJORLY huge project. It is currently
available on this site for
download. (If you want to download a high definition file of the
video, ...we're talking almost 60megabytes...but the best picture
quality possible...send me an e-mail and I will send you a link.)
Special thanks to Dai Duong and Carolina Villa for their
help. The video was filmed in Tijuana and San Diego. I
did the editing myself.
My music studio has been completely
upgraded...I now use Digital Performer 4 and the Waves Native Power
Pack, along with a new sound interface. We are moving into the
league of the pros....Digital Performer 4 is the same program used for
the soundtrack of "Lord of the Rings."
I have purchased an entire new
wardrobe, including three TOTALLY SCANDALOUS pairs of pants from
rooster gear that could get me arrested in the wrong part of town!
My radio show with danny has been a fantastic
success....we have had to put in on hold for a few weeks because of
hurricanes and other acts of god, but we will be back on the air
soon.....so keep checking back.
JULY 12, 2004
Today Danny and I recorded our fourth
show...marking a full month of programming. Woohoo! I never
thought we'd get this far without having some sort of hysterical
fight.
I've tried some exciting internet promotional
techniques, and now officially have friends and enemies all over the
country. Hate and love mail have been piling up. I
guess they love me or hate me.
I'd like to take a moment to remember Adrian,
the man who used to drive my brothers and I from my mothers house to my
fathers house every weekend when I was a kid. He is the man
who taught me the "tonnage law" (the biggest car on the road wins) and
who managed to get me from JFK to La Guardia in less than 30 minutes
during rush hour when I accidently misread my plane ticket
once. I made the plane with time to spare.
Adrian passed away today from cancer, and will be sorely missed.
I'm sure he is driving God somewhere in heaven as we speak.....as no
one else could do a better job....
JUNE 20, 2004
I
unveiled three new songs in Spanish yesterday at the "Dot to Dot"
Summer Sharing...a festival to promote art for Children in Cantamar,
Mexico. The experience was rewarding in every way...the children
were wonderful, as were all the volunteers and the
organizers. Everyone danced like skyscrapers and "honked
their horns" as if they were little cars. What fun!
Afterwards I was invited to a terrific party where I made some great
new friends and was fed the most delicious grilled fish EVER
cooked! Special thanks to Joanne, for hosting the event in her
gallery, and Jason and Brandi, for all the hard work they do, all year
round, to bring art into the lives of children in the border
zone. For more information about the Dot to Dot project, click HERE.
My new radio show with my redneck brother is
off to a good start. The fact that we didn't kill each other
during the recording, and are still talking afterwards, is definitely
auspicious. I got some great feedback from fans after I posted
the first show, and we look forward to bringing you more, even better
shows as the weeks roll on.
JUNE 14, 2004
There
is a reason that many performers "lip sync" to their own songs when
they sing on television or in certain venues where they don't know the
sound guy. The reason is that if they sing live, the sound
might somehow fail, and it could sound like shit. Very
embarrassing in front of millions of people. Or even 200. I
learned this the hard way not once, but twice last month.
Imagine the following scenario: the club is packed. 200
screaming, highly judgemental people are staring at you. They
have just witnessed the best performance ever made on stage by a human
being, and now it is your turn to impress them. You walk on
stage. The song starts. You begin to sing, the best you
have ever sung... but no one can hear you! The mic is not
working! You glare at the sound engineer in the booth. He
shrugs his shoulders and laughs. The people on the audience come
on stage and eat you alive. Or even worse...they turn their backs
and leave!
Not a pretty sight.
Less pretty when it happens twice.
But this whole performing thing is a learning
process. Lesson learned: bring your own sound guy.
The one who works in the club is underpayed, overworked and doesn't
give a rats ass.
On the positve side, at least I looked
good. I have purchased an almost entirely new wardrobe...complete
with black boots, leather pants and a gladiator skirt. If you
have never seen a dude writhing on the floor in a gladiator skirt, then
you most certainly won't want to miss my next show.
More positive news: the grand premiere of my
new web-radio show with my redneck brother is less than a week
away. We are planning to talk about Ronald Reagan,
Abu Ghraib and the upcoming presidential election. My
brother used to beat me with a tennis racket. He has warned
me that this show could be a rehashing of all of our violent childhood
squabbles. I told him it was payback time. It should
be entertaining, so definitely tune in!
APRIL 30, 2004
Winter
hibernation is over.....and that means all the bears....or at least the
Beringers....must
COME OUT OF THEIR CAVES! After about six months locked in my
studio,
I am just about ready to pop out not just one but TWO new albums....one
entirely
in English, and one entirely in Spanish. The English album will
be
titled "Raise Hell, Raise Babies" and will be available just as soon as
my
producer works out the final glitches, which could be as soon as one
month.
The Spanish album should be available later in the summer.
I
am planning to call it 'Gringo loco' which means "crazy white dude" in
Spanish...an
apt description of yours truly.
Both albums incorporate new styles and sounds,
including
a lot of mind-blowing piano accompaniment and solo parts....played by
me,
of course, since I am such a control freak......
I will be promoting each album separately, and as a result
my
web presence will be taking on some interesting new dimensions...I will
be
remodeling my original site, and forming an entirely separate
spanish-language
website at "www.gringoloco.net." Keep your eyes peeled!
My show will be taking on some absolutely
UNBELIEVEABLE
new acts...so get ready to be BLOWN AWAY....new costumes, new dances,
new
music and new surprises. You may hate it, you may absolutely
love
it, but I GUARANTEE you, you will NEVER forget it!!!!!
I made some terrific contacts earlier this year,
and
have been spending many Saturday evenings at Caffiends...a terrific
indie-music
friendly venue downtown san diego at 634 Broadway. I have several
shows
coming up there, so please check my events site for details.
The artcafe section of this site is slowly but
surely
growing with the addition of some great new exhibits, so please stop by
before
you go.
HOPE TO SEE YOU SOON!

NOTICIAS!
14 - Julio -2006
He tocado en varios eventos
He
.... y he puesto algunos toques emocionantes a mi nueva
exposición de luces. ...es una gran noche. ..acompananos
cualquier jueves.

Guanabana. AYYYYYYYY! Pero bueno...a pesar del
secuestro....tengo que decir que AMO A LOS POBLANOS! GRACIAS
AMARAL, ABUELO, DAVID y TODOS LOS GUANABANA!!!!
y conoci a muchos musicos importantes, incluso Fenomeno Fuzz, Silverio,
Miki, Amandita, Papi, Lady Bombon, Maria Daniel y Sonido Lasser, Dogma,
veamos PRONTO!!!!

Bienvenidos
a mi sitio nuevo. Espero que les gusta. Favor de dejarme
unos mensajes es que me gusta
leerlos.
fotos. Gracias George y Lilian! |
