Every Sunday at 8:30pm  The Hot Fundge Sundae Open Mic. O'Connell's Bar.  1310 Morena Blvd.  San Diego, CA 92110.    Free  21+.
Jefferson Jay hosts this terrific Open mic.  It's a friendly laid back atmosphere with some interesting locals, including the infamous Happy Ron Hill.   Mono Mono often plays around 11pm.  Sign ups for three song sets at 8:45.

Every Sunday at 9:30PM  Caguamamas Bar, Tijuana Mexico  Free
Join Jeffrey, his singing friends and a bunch of crazy drag queens for the hottest karaoke entertainment extravaganza south of the border.  Karaoke starts at 8:30, there is a female impersonation show at midnight.   Songs in Spanish and English, come to sing or just to listen.   Park in San Ysidro, take the pedestrian walkway into Mexico.  When you pass through the turnstyle, cross the street and continue straight.   You will see the bar on your left.

Come to hear Jeffrey or any of the myriad of singers, comedians and entertainers who perform at what has come to be one of the most popular open mics in San Diego.  Hosted by the ever delightful Isaac, this show will keep you on the edge of your seat.  If you yourself wish to perform a two song set, get on the list before 6:30pm.

Every Monday between 8:30PM and 1:30AM   710 Beach Club (Formerly Blind Melon's) Open Mic.  710 Beach Club.  710 Garnet Ave.  Pacidic Beach, CA.  858-483-7844. 
After Lestats ends around 11-ish,  this is the place to go on a Monday Night for live music.  Laura Kuebel is the hostess with the most-ess.  MONO MONO plays about midnight once or twice per month.  To sign up for a three song set, check out this Yahoo Group and sign up online, or just show up at the club around 8:15 or so. 

Every Tuesday between 7pm and 9pm.  Open Mic @ Cosmos Coffee Cafe. 8278 La Mesa Blvd.  La Mesa, CA, 91941.  619-698-4217.  Free
A family oriented venue with a very warm, appreciative crowd.  Try not to use profanity there are babies there!  Sign ups at 6:30.   Two songs.

Every Tuesday between 9pm and 12am.  Open Mic @ Longboards Bar and Grill.  1466 Garnet Ave.  San Diego, CA 92109.  21+  Free
You will either become famous here or be ridiculed off the stage.  300 Frat boys and girls converge in the bar every Tuesday to make this San Diego's largest and most challenging open mic environment.   Definitely a worthwhile experience for those who really wanna know if their music has what it takes to win over a crowd.  Mono Mono plays once every two months.  Sign-ups at 8:30.  Three song sets.

Every Wednesday  between 7pm and 11pm.   Twiggs Coffeehouse.  4590 Park Blvd.  San Diego, CA.  619-296-0616  Free.
A real grand piano and excellent vocal acoustics set this open-mic apart from the others.   Jeffrey almost always sings in the first half of the evening from his piano set.   If you wish to sing, sign ups for the first part of the evening start at 5:30, and then there is a general raffle at 8:30 for all slots between 8:30 and 11.

Every Wednesday  between 8:30pm and 11pm.  The Hullabaloo at Portugalia.  4839 Newport Ave.  San Diego, CA 92107.  Free.
A lovely Brazilian restaurant with a spacious performance area and a warm, welcoming vibe becomes the home of Jefferson Jay's infamous wednesday night open mic.  You'll sound good here, and you can get good food and booze.  Three songs sets.  Sign ups at 8:30.
