Julie Ann Stricklin is like a modern day King Midas, with one difference:  everything she touches, instead of turning into gold, turns into art.
     Her paintings are remarkable, juxtaposing a gentle, fantastical use of color and light with austere lines and spaces.   Her style is like a hummingbird, impossible to pinpoint, ranging from classical to the ultra modern.  In her paintings, Julie captures the most intimate, incomprehensible things about people and places...and translates them into a mesmerizing universal language. 
     Certain images of Julies have an almost childlike innocence, while others posses a sleek, sultry eroticism.   Without prejudice, she examines both the world of the child, and of the adult, in an intrepid fashion, and exposes her findings with no hesitation.
     At times direct, at times subtle, at times disciplined, at times extremely frivolous and bold, no two of her paintings are the same.  It is as though there were a thousand artists living in her mind, each with a unique sense of humor, tragedy and love...each creating a completely new work and then stepping back to make room for a new and different creator.
     Her painting is just the tip of a very large iceberg.  Julie is an astute businesswoman and has found a multitude of ways in which to employ her talents.  She illustrates childrens books,  repairs photos, designs postcards and commercial logos and anything else that lends itself to the eye of an artist.  She even has designed her own line of apparel and household goods!

     Julie is a graphic designer who currently lives in Del Mar, California. 
     She is originally from Texas, where she began making waves in the art world at an early age.
     Her first art teacher constantly submitted Julie's  work to competitions which resulted in many awards, an exposition in the local  museum, several commissions and eventually a scholarship to begin college all  before the age of 17.
      After acquiring transferable credits from a variety  of schools, including The University of Texas,
Julie earned her degree in Applied Arts and  Sciences with an Emphasis in Design from San Diego State University. 
     Julie  returned to school a decade later to acquire her Digital Graphic Design  certification from the Advertising Arts College in San Diego, CA.
      Julie has travelled extensively through the United States, the Orient,  Europe, South America, the Bahamas, and the South Pacific, and each place has left a special footprint in her artistic style.
      Julie's client list for fine art is as eclectic as  her styles, ranging from Corporate Banks, Business accounts, Publishers, Pro Athletes, Actors and local and international commissions.
