by Hugo Heredia
Color and light explode in the glass of Hugo heredia's sculptures,
shattering all preconceptions about glass and its' limits. in his
works, metal daringly embraces glass, and glass seems to embrace the
metal with equal
force, challenging the notion that metal is strong and glass is
fragile.
Simple but stunning geometric patterns and bizarre abstract
forms
set the stage for this strange but beautiful love affair between glass
and
metal, leaving the onlooker dazed and yet completely content, as if the
the
final piece to the puzzle of life had finally been put to place before
their
eyes.....
WHO IS 'HUGO HEREDIA'?
A partner in art and life, Hugo has been an inspiration to me for the
past three years with his unending fervor to create. From humble
beginnings in a Mexican pueblo, to the finest galleries of Southern
California, he
has made art an integral part of his being, and shared it with all
around
him. There seems to be no obstacle he can't over come. He
works
as a glass engineer in the day, and an artist by night. His works
are frequently on display in shows and galleries, including the Joseph
David
Gallery, Blaire House of Hillcrest, the Candle Company of
Del
Mar, and Art Walk.
